El Sauzal de Rodríguez is a town and delegation in the municipality of Ensenada, north of the municipal seat. In 2010 it had a little more than 8,859 inhabitants who are mainly dedicated to the fishing industry, shellfish packing, grapevine cultivation, olive trees and hotels. This is reflected in the fishing industries and factories located throughout the town. It is part of the Ensenada Metropolitan Area and was absorbed by the city's urban sprawl.
In recent years, the delegation has grown with large hotel, residential and industrial complexes that are developed in the area that also benefits from its proximity to Valle de Guadalupe.
