La Misión or Misión de San Miguel is a village in Baja California located on Mexican Federal Highway 1 approximately 41 miles south of the San Ysidro border crossing on the Gold Coast of the Baja California peninsula.
La Mision is a spot just down the beach from La Fonda/K-58. Most people walk over from K-58 because the surf breaks are in front of a private access property. It is a pretty consistently good spot, especially if the swell is big. So when other spots are closing out, The Mission will just be starting to turn on. On the south end of the beach is a river mouth that creates shifting sandbar spots.
